About Us
In the Beginning:
What once was a carting company where complete vessels were scrapped, has turned into a complete marine vessel recycling center for Long Island Marinas and pleasure boaters alike. The owner was quite disgusted with the amount of debris, some of which was toxic , that was being crushed and just dumped into the local landfills. As the boats came in he started staging them at the yard until the yard was full. The boats were pulled apart and everything went to its own recycler, engines went to the metal guy, teak was stacked and given to the local woodworkers clubs, oils and fuel from the engines was given to mechanic shops that burned it as a source of heat. It was a socially conscious move but couldn't sustain itself financially.
The Growing Years:
As we move forward with a new staging area in Bayshore NY. We have gotten more efficient at what's known in the industry as "parting out" boats . One of my favorite aspects of this endeavor is watching people who really can't afford the steep price tag of a new boat put one together from the many parts we have. I consider that a perfect recycle. Now with a newer UPS # we are able to ship parts across the country and even overseas where American made boats are really appreciated.
Where we're going:
We are looking forward to , one day , when even the fiberglass hulls are reused as a recycled product. Roadways would be an ideal application for this. We are hopeful that one day the marinas on Long Island will make us there first call when looking for parts for a particular item. Because of our ranking in the web searches we believe that many of Long Island Marine based businesses will link from this site.
